Limantour to Millers Point, October 18th 2008.

The BASK planning meeting was scheduled to happen in a picturesque location this month, the house of Ranger Dan Habig above Limantour Beach. Several paddles were planned beforehand and I wanted to join one of them. I was unable to arrive on time but launched by myself and turned south to catch up with the group that went to Miller Point. I could not see them ahead of me and figured that in the worse case I would meet them on their return trip and paddle back with company.

I paddled down past the Sculptured Coast and through the arches of beautiful Point Resistance. I looked at waves breaking into the Secret Cave. I waved at the hikers who were standing on top of the cliff at Arched Rock. The tide looked too high for them to hike down to the beach and walk through the arch under their feet. Eventually I turned the corner at Millers Point, hoping to see my friends there. Nothing. It turned out that they had decided to go the other way! They paddled west to the mouth of Limantour Estero and I was the only person to go the other way. I ended up paddling back to Limantour Beach by myself.
