Haena Beach, just before Kee Beach. The brown patch in the water is a sea
turtle!
I saw this sea turtle in the water ahead of me. When it dove and traveled
under the kayak I managed to catch these two pictures of it under water!
Kee Beach, the end of the road before the Na Pali Coast area.
Hanakapiai Beach, the first stop on the Na Pali Trail.
I called this the "Big Dent" in the cliff, with several caves
at the base of a curved overhang in the cliff.
This is the entrance to the "Worlds Second Largest Sea Cave".
Here are two (!) boats entering the cave, and one of them exiting out under
the waterfall.
Just inside the "Front Door" of the Double Door Cave is a lovely
waterfall that falls through a hole in the roof of the cave!
The "Back Door" of the Double Door Cave is wider but not as deep
as the front door.
Then I ran of film and came back later with Jamie Morgan to photograph
places I did not see when I was here by myself.
An exposed volcanic dike creates a giant trangle of stone arching over
the water here. Seen from far away, then Jamie approaching it up close,
and finally a view of the rough water and waterfall under the triangle.
The next day, the swells at sea were 16 feet high, and the caves were unaproachable.
We went swimming in the "Blue Cave":
We took in the tour at the Limahuli Botanical Gardens.
We hiked in the first three kilometers of the Na Pali trail.
